Update from GRN delegate to Pakistan (6-30-07)

30 06 2007

“All is going well in Faisalabad. I have had a busy time with the —— family. They are wonderful. We went to a village an hour away yesterday. Camels, burquas, ——-, great adventure! Many programs from the sewing center and bible school students the last few days. Flowers, etc. I love ——– kids. We have had lots of fun. Yesterday we almost had an incident in another village because I forgot we were in Pakistan and not Albion, NY. Trying to be friendly I got out of the car and spoke with some children. Immediately many gathered around to peak at the gringo. Soon a couple fundamentalist young men from a local madrassa came by. —— told me to get in the car. Later they told me to never leave the car again. I could tell they were a little fearful.

Greet the church family. Wish they were all here.”

“Some people change”

27 06 2007

This past weekend Tom spoke at HCF on the topic “Some people change.” It was a reminder to all of us not to give up hope on hurting and broken people. Jesus never called us to fix people, He called us to love people. He didn’t teach us to love where people are at, He taught us to love people where they were at. There’s a big difference. If we would commit ourselves to being friends with people and loving them, we may just have the joy of watching them change for the better, and who knows, we might too.

If you would like to hear the full message, you can obtain it by subscribing to GRN’s podcast. The instructions for subscribing are located on the “Resources” page of our blog. We hope you enjoy it.
