Pakistan Update…

Friends of GRN, here is the latest update on our friend Mr. Sharon from Pakistan. Please keep praying for this troubled country.

Dear Tom, Elli, Megan, John, and Jeremiah,Greetings from Pakistan! We all as a family are thankful for your prayers without ceasing that brought us safely home on Monday December 31st from Lahore. We praise the Lord for our sons who showed their obedience and faithfulness by being a great source of encouragement and support to both of us in these last few days.

On December 31st, 2007 we gave thanks to the Lord for being our refuge, fortress and a source of protection in the year 2007 and for the gift of life as we entered in the year 2008.  We Praise the Lord for your love, friendship and heart for this part of the world. Please lift my wife in your prayers, as she is going through post-traumatic stress.

Please pray for the Peace and safety in Pakistan while the country goes for Election on February 17th, 2008.

May the Lord Bless you and your family and use you as a tool of evangelism to bring many to His Kingdom.

We love you folks and will keep you updated.

In His Love,

The Sharon Family”

Pakistan

Dear friends of GRN,

I would like to solicit your prayers on behalf of my friend Mr. Sharon in Pakistan (We featured Mr. Sharon on *lifeonline a few weeks ago. Scroll down to view interview on this page). As many of you already know, Pakistan is in an uproar today over the assassination of Former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto and twenty others.

I personally spoke with Mr. Sharon today and he said the situation is chaotic. The bomb blast that killed these people occurred only one mile from his home. He assured me that he and his family were fine and are staying in a hotel outside of town until things calm down. Praise God!

Please lift your voice in prayer for Mr. Sharon, his family, and the people of Pakistan.

Thank you,

Tom Zurowski

This week our director, Tom Zurowski, interviews GRN’s friend, Mr. Sharon, from Pakistan. Mr. Sharon spent a few days with us in New York while on a month long visit to the United States.

GRN plans on partnering with Alpha Ministries (The ministry Mr. Sharon directs) in this coming year. They currently have several projects that fit within GRN’s main purposes.

We hope you enjoy the interview. We think you will see, that as serious as our work is, there is always time for joy and a little laughter.

This broadcast is six minutes and fifty four seconds in length. Enjoy!

Persecution finds US

Mr. Sharon from Pakistan recently visited the GRN family in Albion, NY. Tom and Mr. Sharon have become friends as GRN has worked to help persecuted Christians in Pakistan. Mr. Sharon has labored to help spread the Gospel in his country that is 97-98% Muslim. He worked at the US Embassy in Pakistan for 17 years and has met several predominant leaders from the US including President and Mrs. Bill Clinton, Mr. Colin Powell, and both elder and son President Bush.

Take a look at the clip below to see what life as a Christian has been like for him and his family in Pakistan. We believe you will be encouraged in your faith as you hear him share part of his story.

Let’s continue to partner with and pray for our persecuted brothers and sisters in Pakistan and around the world. Your commitment to GRN helps to assist our persecuted family in carrying their cross as they live, and at times, die for Jesus.

Please turn up your volume to listen to this video. Thank you.

GRN delegate returns from Pakistan

18 07 2007

This past Saturday morning (1:00am), Tim Archer returned safely from Pakistan. As many of you know, Pakistan had truly heated up with violence due to a clash in Islamabad. The whole country felt the ripple effects, which made things pretty tense for all of our contacts there.

Thank you for praying for Tim while he was gone. God still answers prayers!

Update from GRN delegate to Pakistan (6-30-07)

30 06 2007

“All is going well in Faisalabad. I have had a busy time with the —— family. They are wonderful. We went to a village an hour away yesterday. Camels, burquas, ——-, great adventure! Many programs from the sewing center and bible school students the last few days. Flowers, etc. I love ——– kids. We have had lots of fun. Yesterday we almost had an incident in another village because I forgot we were in Pakistan and not Albion, NY. Trying to be friendly I got out of the car and spoke with some children. Immediately many gathered around to peak at the gringo. Soon a couple fundamentalist young men from a local madrassa came by. —— told me to get in the car. Later they told me to never leave the car again. I could tell they were a little fearful.

Greet the church family. Wish they were all here.”
